Uniting Science, Poetry, and Volunteers for a Healthier Future!
In the land of flu and sneeze,
Folks seek remedies, if you please.
Vitamin tea and lemon so spry,
A drop of whiskey, oh my, oh my!
Jackson Bacon for breakfast hot,
Boil of water, a lot, a lot!
Half-pint glasses, four or five,
Spanish A with sugar, oh how we thrive!
Whiskey warm, Scotchman’s friend,
Rum punch, sweat it out ’til the end.
Salty sock and water bottle,
Sweat it out, full throttle!
Elderflower wine, just a glass,
Rub mustard with la, and hope it’ll pass.
Grease from the goose, don’t forget,
Brown paper, mustard, don’t fret!
Inflammation, elderflower water,
Go to bed with brown paper armor.
Messy, yes, but what’s the harm,
When flu is lurking, raising alarm?
Hot lemonade with rum and aspirin,
Safety-pin stockings, oh what a din!
Three days in bed, change pajamas too,
And then, my friends, the flu is through.
But the best advice, just let it be,
Think you haven’t got it, you’ll soon be free.
Drink it up, cool or warm,
Work it off, embrace the storm!
With flu now, still standing tall,
Thank you kindly, but that is all.
As we ponder on this tale,
The question lingers, without fail:
What better could you and I do,
To find treatments, tried and true?
A call to action, now we share,
To seek solutions, show we care.
So what? How could I help?
Thanks to clinical research always trying to find the answers and cure so we don’t need to rub ‘goose grease with mustard seeds’ and sleep overnight. Proud to be a research nurse, working for better healthcare today and tomorrow.

So gather, dear people, and take on this quest,
Join research endeavors, and be our guest.
For it’s together, we’ll conquer the flu,
And build a healthier future, for me and for you.
