As a nurse, I am deeply disheartened by the government’s recent actions to block our strike and take us to court. This situation only highlights the ongoing struggle for fair pay and recognition of our invaluable work. The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) has been advocating for our rights, and it is disappointing to see the government actively working against us rather than finding a solution through negotiations.
Despite the court ruling, our determination to fight for a better pay deal remains strong. We will continue to explore legal avenues, and we encourage our fellow nurses to participate in the reballot for further strike action. It is crucial that we unite as a profession and make our voices heard.
The government’s decision to prioritize legal action over negotiations has severely damaged trust between nurses and the government. It is now more important than ever for us to stand together and demand the fair treatment and compensation we deserve. Our profession is consistently recognized as one of the most trusted, and it is time for the government to treat us with the respect and dignity we have earned.

In the halls of healing, we stand as one,
Nurses united, our mission far from done.
Through sleepless nights and endless days,
We strive to heal, in countless ways.
For we are the backbone, the quiet force,
Guiding the NHS on its noble course.
The government’s actions, unjust and unkind,
Cannot break our spirit, nor change our mind.
With hearts that beat for every life,
We’ll rise above this bitter strife.
We’ll stand together, hand in hand,
Demanding justice in this weary land.
Our voices strong, we’ll not be swayed,
By courts and laws unjustly made.
For what we seek is more than fair,
A simple recognition of the care we share.
In the face of adversity, we’ll work harder still,
To heal the sick, to mend the ill.
And though the journey may be long and tough,
Together we’ll conquer, we are strong enough.
For every patient, every soul,
We’ll strive to make the healthcare whole.
And in our unity, we’ll rise,
To build an NHS that never dies.
With each new day, our hearts will sing,
A chorus of hope, our voices ring.
For we are nurses, proud and true,
Fighting for justice, for me and for you.
